Arpin Van Lines and Arpin International Group are both revealing new looks for 2011 with the launch of contemporary websites at http://www.Arpin.com and http://www.ArpinIntl.com. This completes the second phase of Arpin Group’s brand update, which began in 2009 with new logos for the Arpin companies and a new website at http://www.ArpinGroup.com.
Scott Balint has been promoted to GSA operations manager of Arpin International Group.
As operations manager, Balint will be responsible for managing staff and the day-to-day business of Arpin International Group’s GSA division.
“Scott has proven himself to be a highly professional and capable relocation coordinator and supervisor during his past nine years with us at Arpin International Group,” said Chris Hood, vice president of GSA International at Arpin International Group. “His promotion to operations manager will greatly benefit our team here in the GSA division and add more value to our customers’ experience. All 140 agents in the Arpin Van Lines family across the U.S. will join the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) in 2011, the two organizations announced today.

Christiane Crown has joined Arpin Group as vice president of military DPS systems.
As vice president, Crown will be directly responsible for all military Defense Personal Property Program (DP3) business and will help Arpin Group grow through her expertise in Department of Defense systems.
DP3, a program implemented by the Department of Defense, is a computer system designed to facilitate and streamline the moving process for members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Moving companies must interface with the DP3 system if they provide household goods transportation for service members, military-employed civilians and their families.

As a result of the events surrounding the U.S. inbound cargo over the past week, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security continues to strengthen security requirements for all U.S. aircraft operators and foreign carriers regarding cargo inbound to the U.S.
In addition to the full ban on all cargo originating from Yemen and Somalia, the majority of U.S. based passenger airlines have implemented a full ban on cargo which represents an elevated risk and is destined to or transitioning through the U.S.
Caroline Curik has joined Arpin International Group as manager of customer relations at its growing customer service center in Germany.
As customer relations manager, Curik will oversee the acquisition of new clients for Arpin International Group in Germany.
“Caroline will be a great asset to our customer relations team,” said Peter Matischak, director of global sales for Arpin Group, Inc. “Her years of experience in the international relocations market and her personable nature, make her a valuable resource for our customers.”
Curik comes to Arpin International Group after having held a previous position as managing consultant at Professional Organizing Relocation Consult in Sulzbach, Germany. There she was responsible for the relocation of employees for international company clients, including orientation tours, home searching, and settling-in services. She is fluent in German, English and French.
Habitat for Humanity, this month, recognized Arpin/Daly Movers for donating trailer storage space, worth an estimated $60,000, during a volunteer home construction project in San Juan Capistrano, Calif.

Stefan Keller has joined Arpin International Group as sales manager at its growing customer service center in Germany. As sales manager, Stefan Keller will oversee the acquisition of new customers and business partners in Germany.

Stefan Keller comes to Arpin International Group after having held previous sales manager positions at firms including Birkart Globistics, Rettenmayer and Colson Europe B.V.
Arpin Renewable Energy, an Arpin Group company, has teamed up with Cardi’s Furniture Superstores to provide drivers of plug-in electric and plug-in hybrid cars with the first public car charging station in Rhode Island. The electric car charging station was unveiled in August during a ribbon-cutting event attended by Rhode Island’s governor.

Arpin Renewable Energy and Cardi’s Furniture Superstores have teamed up to provide drivers of plug-in electric and plug-in hybrid electric cars with the first public car charging station in Rhode Island. The charging unit, provided by Coulomb Technologies, is expected to be followed within a year by a new design called ARC (Auto Recharge Center), currently being developed by an Arpin Renewable Energy affiliated partner.
The electric car charging station will be unveiled during a media event on August 27, 10:00 a.m. at the Cardi’s Furniture Superstore, 1681 Quaker Lane (Rt. 2) West Warwick, R.I.
New Russian Customs regulations are significantly affecting all expatriate shipments to Russia.
Previously, household good shipments of non-Russian citizens employed in Russia cleared Russian Customs as temporary imports without paying duty. Duty-free temporary imports of household goods were in accordance with the validity terms of the respective Russian visa and were required to be re-exported prior to the visa’s expiration.
Susan Garganese has been promoted to general manager, Arpin of Rhode Island, an agent of Arpin Van Lines.
As general manager, Garganese will manage staff, oversee operations, streamline processes and be responsible for generating revenue for Arpin of Rhode Island. She has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the Arpin claims system as well as the charity selection and programming process for Arpin Group.
Arpin Group, Inc., a leading household goods moving and storage company, announced today that its much-loved Chairman, Mr. Paul G. Arpin Sr., passed away over the weekend on June 12, 2010. At 85, Paul continued to remain active in the day-to-day management of the company until his death.

Operations at national ports in South Africa (Durban, Cape Town, and East London) are at a standstill due to a national strike by approximately 50,000 workers of the state-owned rail and port operator, Transnet, Ltd.
Arpin Group today announced it acquired the stock of Affiliated Transportation Systems (ATSI) and eight related companies. ATSI is a household goods transportation service provider located in Lawton, Oklahoma, and primarily serves military personnel.
“This acquisition will provide significant opportunities for Arpin Van Lines’ agents to pack and haul shipments that are booked by ATSI,” said David Arpin, president and CEO of Arpin Group.
ATSI and its related companies own or manage 22 military authorities with over $32 million in billings in 2009.
All of ATSI’s operations will continue in place in Lawton, Oklahoma, and be operated independently of the Arpin companies. Ron McDonald, ATSI senior vice president, will continue to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the acquired companies and report to Matt Dolan, Arpin Group’s senior vice president and chief operating officer.
Please note that ports throughout Asia are currently experiencing major congestion affecting export shipments. Due to the current economic climate, most major carriers have experienced considerable financial hardship, and as a result, have decreased their fleets and therefore, their capacity significantly. As a consequence, they have been unable to meet the current market demand, and while a global issue, this shortage is currently being felt most severely in China and throughout Asia.
Arpin Group to help Rhode Island residents and businesses recycle computers and shred documents to benefit the Audubon Society of Rhode Island
Special fundraising e-waste collection open to public for one day only – April 24
Arpin Group will host an e-waste recycling collection and document-shredding event on Saturday, April 24, with proceeds going to the Audubon Society of Rhode Island. The collection will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Audubon Environmental Education Center, 1401 Hope Street (Rte 114), Bristol, R.I.
A minimum donation of $.20 per pound is highly encouraged for most items, but certain items such as air conditioners will require an extra disposal fee. All donations collected from e-waste recycling benefit the Audubon Society of Rhode Island.
Due to the severe flooding in the state of Rhode Island and surrounding areas, roads and highways are closed and the state has been declared a disaster area. Many of our staff and management at both Arpin Van Lines and Arpin International Group have experienced flooding in their homes and others are unable to get to the offices due to road and highway closures and flooding.
At this time, both Arpin Van Lines and Arpin International Group are open but working with reduced staff.

Eight full-sized Arpin moving trucks rolled off Cardi's Furniture parking lots late last month, filled with 8,000 donated walking aids including crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, canes and others, destined for Norfolk, Va., where they began their final journey to Haiti.

Arpin Van Lines has named Studdard Moving & Storage of Leavenworth, Kan., as the 2009 Prime Agent of the Year. Studdard and dozens of other agents were honored at the Arpin Van Lines Agent convention held in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The 2009 Prime Agent of the Year Award is given to the agent of the month who maintains the highest quality scores based on customer survey responses, low claims, and an excellent safety record. This year’s recipient, Studdard Moving & Storage of Leavenworth, Kan., maintains a comprehensive training program that addresses every aspect of customer service and proper packing and loading procedures. Studdard has participated in numerous humanitarian aid projects, such as working with the Kansas National Guard to collect and ship clothing, shoes, medicines, school supplies and other aid items to Iraq.

SINGAPORE (November 2, 2009)– Dixon Lim has joined Arpin International Group's Singapore office as a move manager.

The First Annual E-Waste Fest 2009, a folk festival and e-waste recycling event hosted by worldwide mover, Arpin Group, Inc. and electronic waste recycler, Cartridge World RI, collected 23,860 lbs. of computers, printers, monitors and other electronic waste for safe disposal, preventing these items from landing in local landfills.
