Truckers Strike at Port Klang, Malaysia

May 09, 2012

Arpin Group has been advised that the strike by container haulage drivers at Port Klang, the main import and export gateway by sea into Malaysia, is continuing with no immediate end in sight. The strike has resulted in a backlog of containers at the port. In addition, the movement is beginning to take hold in other areas of the country with a protest/strike by drivers at the Port of Pasir Gudang, Johor, scheduled for May 11, 2012.

As a consequence, delays in receipt of import and export containers are inevitable and could result in additional port storage and removal charges.

Your Arpin service team will do everything possible to minimize delays and manage the expectations of the relocating families to the best of their ability. We will continue to update you as the situation warrants.
