Expect Service Delays during Peak Moving Season in the United States

April 13, 2018

Peak moving season in the United States officially begins on May 15, but the truck-driver shortage is already having an impact on the availability of drayage companies to accept container trucking orders. This is resulting in delayed pickups, deliveries, and additional costs.

Therefore, we are notifying customers that additional per diem, demurrage, and detention charges may arise. In the meantime, we are proactively negotiating with shipping lines to include additional free time at all US destinations.

Your Arpin service team will be contacting all customers impacted by the driver shortage to set up individual contingency plans. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will do everything possible to minimize delays and manage the expectations of the relocating families to the best of our ability.
