Service Interruption Alert – Delays at the Port of Dakar, SenegalSeptember 26, 2017
The Port of Dakar, located in Senegal, is currently experiencing delayed processing of import/export shipments due to a strike by container transporters. The strike, declared September 18, shows no signs of ending soon.
Consequently, we are advising customers with import or export shipments to prepare for some major delays as well as additional port storage, demurrage, and various other charges which may be assessed.
Your Arpin service team will be contacting all customers affected by the strike to set up individual contingency plans. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will do everything possible to minimize delays and manage the expectations of the relocating families to the best of our ability.
