Shipment Delays Expected Because of RamadanAugust 13, 2010
Please note that shipment delays are expected beginning Wednesday, August 11 through Thursday, September 10, 2010 at ports in predominantly Muslim countries as the holy month of Ramadan is observed.
The Islamic day commencing with the start of Ramadan varies from country to country as it is based on the lunar calendar. Observance begins after sunset on the first day the crescent of a new moon is sighted; therefore, all countries will begin observance within 24 hours.
During this time, we expect operations to slow as working hours will be restricted. As a consequence, additional port storage and demurrage charges for import and export containers are inevitable.
Your Arpin service team will do everything possible to minimize delays and manage the expectations of the relocating families to the best of their ability.
